I have read many, many...MANY parenting books in my lifetime. Especially after having kids of my own and after I started writing parenting articles for books and magazines, there was no escaping parenting books, teaching you everything you need to know about raising kind-hearted, emotionally stable, responsible children...blah blah blah.

And maybe it is THIS fact that has prevented me from enjoying the contents of this book. I am plainly bored with what Calrice Hong has to write.

The things in this book is just not worth a single cent you're going to be paying for. Maybe I am just being a little stern with the rating but this is the honest truth. There's nothing in here you'll find that you can't find in thousands and THOUSANDS of websites giving you free and more indepth insight into the world of positive parenting.

Essentially, Dr. Clarice Hong is a child psychiatric specialist who deals with children. She sounds like a damn good psychiatrist and doctor and knows what she's talking about but maybe it's got to do with the fact that everything in the book is so darn short and simple that if you've read a lot of books on parenting, you'd be thinking to yourself, "Annnnnddddddd?????? Tell me something I don't know, for crissake!!!"

Lots of the content of this book make perfect sense but it's also simple logic. Even if you don't have a single maternal or paternal bone in your body, you can derive at the same solution without the help of this book, I mean this seriously.

There's probably nothing wrong with the book, mind you, cause it could be me who's too negative about reading things that people can find for free on the Internet. Maybe that's why the book publishing industry has been suffering. But in truth, authors have to make sure the content of their books are informational enough and also concise. AND useful too.

It won't make a difference if the book has a wonderfully colorful cover or anything like that - the book has a very pretty and 'child-like' cover and it's pretty attractive, actually.

But you can't sell the book with just the cover only.
